Your time in New Zealand on a student visa must be for study. You may be allowed to work part-time but there are rules you need to know. If you wish to stay in New Zealand and work after you have finished you graduate, you will need the right visa to do so.
Visa For Partners Of Students
Partners of students can work while their partner studies by obtaining an open work visa.
The student partner needs to be undertaking full time postgraduate study or working towards a qualification on the Long Term Skill Shortage List.
Visit visas are available for partners of student visas who does not meet the above requirements.

Guardian Visitor visa
Applying this visa if you are a parent or legal guardian of a child (17 years old or under) who is in New Zealand and currently holding a student visa.
With this type of visa you can live and taking care of your child.
The length of your visa will be the same as the child's student visa.
You cannot work or study in New Zealand under this visa, but you may be able to apply for a variation of conditions to allow you to either work (limited from Monday to Friday; from 9:30 am to 2:30pm) Or study for a part time.

New Zealand Family Visa
Family Residence In New Zealand
Partner: Husband, wife, de-facto or civil union partner of a New Zealand citizen or resident.
Dependent Child: Dependent child with a parent who is a New Zealand citizen or resident.
Parent: Parent of a child who is a New Zealand citizen or resident.
Parent Retirement Category: Parents with a child who is a New Zealand citizen or resident and you are able to invest NZ$1 million in New Zealand for four years.
Family Temporary Entry In New Zealand
This category is for people who intend to stay temporarily with a family member who is a New Zealand citizen or resident.
Family Temporary Entry can be used for people visiting, working in, or studying in New Zealand.

Visitor Visas
Borders are now fully open to visitors from all around the world. This type of visa allows you to travel to New Zealand to explore this beautiful country or take a study course with a duration of 3 months or less.
In order to obtain the visa, you must meet the following requirements :
