Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV)
You can apply for this temporary visa if you have a job offer from an accredited employer, the skills and qualifications for the job, and a link to the application form. You may be eligible for the Green List Straight to Residence Visa, or after 2 years the Work to Residence Visa.
Your visa will be valid for up to 5 years if you are paid at or above the New Zealand median wage of NZD $29.66 an hour, and for up to 2 years if you are paid below the median wage.
You can only support your dependent child's visitor or student visa if you earn at least NZD $43,322.76 each year.
This visa ties you to the employer who offered you the visa application for the length of your visa — if your situation changes you will need to vary the conditions of your visa or apply for a new visa.

Employer Accreditation
Wanting to employ staff from overseas? Your business will need to be registered as an employer accredited before recruiting any workers.
The following requirements to get your company accredited:
* A good financial report without any loss over the last two years and a business report, including a history of compliance with the immigration and employment laws
* A good explanation of the business plan or strategy, including the business hierarchy structure with any key people identified to ensure your business is viable
Once the accreditation is granted, it is valid for a maximum of 12 months on the initial. Accreditation renewal for employers will be granted every two years.
The new AEWV process is divided into 3 stages: the accreditation process, the job check and the visa application.
The Employer Check
The accreditation process
Type 1: Standard
If the employer wants to employ up to 5 migrant workers on AEWVs at any one time. It has a fee of $740.
Type 2: High Volume
If the employer wants to employ 6 or more migrant workers on AEWVs at any one time. It has a fee of $1220.
The Job Check
After accreditation is secured, the employer must apply for a job check for each job they need a migrant for. Multiple positions for the same job can be included in one job check. The job check process is made to ensure the openings meet NZ employment laws and standards and the employer has tried to recruit or train New Zealanders for the position with no success. An approved job check is valid for 6 months or until the employer no longer holds accreditation, whichever is earlier.
The Migrant Worker Check
Visa application process
The migrant will need to meet the skills and experience stipulated as part of the job check. It is the last step in the AEWV process. The migrant worker must show they meet INZ’s character, identity and health requirements, and meet the skills and experience stipulated as part of the employer’s job check application. Migrant workers or employers pay for this check.
